I havent yet needed to use the app in a real-world situation but did witness its use the other day. Someone came into the ED and neither he nor his companions spoke more than a few words of English. The interpreter phone wasnt working and a hospital interpreter couldnt be there for another hour. And yes, this was an emergent situation. The resident pulled out Canopy and was able to get the information she needed to make the correct diagnosis. I believe in this case the diagnosis could have been made without the app but it would have taken more and and more tests. Canopy helped direct the exam and got treatment started more quickly.
Whats the point of having it on your finger when it doesnt open?
I really enjoy using this app to supplement my Spanish vocabulary and semantics when talking to patients. However, I have had a lot of trouble with it shutting down as soon as I open the app. Please fix this!!! I have a Spanish-speaking patient now in the hospital, and I could really use the help of the Canopy app. Thanks!

Have used spanish and mandarin chinese sections while at clinics. Can confirm that both are well translated and the speaking pronunciation is good too; though a bit on the formal side. Some languages do not have as extensive question/phrase banks but hopefully theyll continue adding. Also hope to see a general terms bank in later updates for those who have a little fluency but are lacking in specifically medical terminology. Have been using google translate for those specific terms but that gives the common lay translation which doesnt always match the medical terminology (e.g. depressed translating into sad instead of clinical depression)
